While other college football teams in Texas are changing head coaches this offseason, Texas Tech isn't one of them.

Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced on Sunday that despite his disappointment with the team's performance in 2016, Kliff Kingsbury will remain the head coach.

“I believed in Kliff Kingsbury when we hired him in December of 2012, and I believe in Kliff Kingsbury today,” Hocutt said.  “I look forward to future success under his leadership as we move forward. I'm confident there's much better days ahead for Texas Tech football.”

Texas Tech finished the season 5-7 with one of the worst defenses in the FBS.

Kingsbury has a 24-26 overall record and 13-23 in the Big 12.
