Miami Heat News and Rumors - NBA

Tim Hardaway Jr. - Catches fire off bench Hardaway finished with 14 points (4-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT) in 11 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 129-105 preseason win over Toronto.

Impact Hardaway didn't miss a shot in his Heat preseason debut and finished tied for the team lead in scoring despite playing just 11 minutes. The veteran sharpshooter should provide Miami with valuable floor spacing off the bench after joining the club during the offseason, particularly alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

Davion Mitchell - Starts preseason opener Mitchell recorded three points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four assists, one rebound and one steal in 13 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason win over the Raptors.

Impact Mitchell drew the start at point guard alongside Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, and the entire starting unit was limited to first-half action. The 28-year-old appears to have the inside track on the starting point guard job after averaging 9.3 points and 6.5 assists across 28.6 minutes per game during the 2025-26 regular season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Perfect from field in preseason opener Antetokounmpo scored nine points (3-3 FG, 3-4 FT) while adding four rebounds and seven assists in Saturday's 129-105 preseason win over the Raptors.

Impact Antetokounmpo also committed two turnovers, but the star guard delivered a dominant performance in a brief 14-minute cameo, showing he'll be the gravitational force on offense for the Heat when he's on the court. Expect the Heat to manage Antetokounmpo's workload carefully during the preseason with an eye to have him in top-notch condition for the regular-season opener against the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
