Will Smith - Considered day-to-day Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Monday that Smith (upper body) is considered day-to-day, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Impact Warsofsky already indicated Sunday that Smith would travel with the Sharks ahead of their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Thursday in Washington and runs through Jan. 20 in Tampa Bay. Smith's status for Thursday's matchup against the Capitals remains uncertain, but he's shed his non-contact jersey in practice, which Warsofsky said was the next step in the 20-year-old's recovery process.

Vincent Desharnais - Set to travel with team Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Monday that Desharnais (upper body) is expected to travel with the Sharks ahead of their upcoming four-game road trip, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Impact Desharnais has been sidelined since late November due to his upper-body injury, but he returned to practice Jan. 4 and appears to be closing in on a return to game action. The Sharks' road trip runs from Thursday in Washington through Jan. 20 in Tampa Bay, and while it's not yet clear exactly when Desharnais will return, it seems likely that he'll be an option for the team sometime during the next week.

Impact Mukhamadullin has missed San Jose's last four contests but looks close to getting back into the lineup. If the 24-year-old does get activated off injured reserve for Thursday's matchup with Washington, it will likely come at the expense of Sam Dickinson or Vincent Iorio.

Collin Graf - Nets goal in loss Graf scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Graf ended a six-game goal drought with his first-period tally. He spent much of December in a top-six role, but his recent slowdown on offense has seen him slip back to the third line and off the power play. The versatile forward is up to 12 goals, 24 points, 48 shots on net, 46 hits, 32 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 44 appearances. He's able to fill a lot of different roles, so don't be surprised to see Graf move up to the top six again the next time the Sharks undergo a major line shuffle.

Alexander Wennberg - Matches last year's goal total Wennberg scored a goal in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Wennberg stayed hot with his third goal and sixth point over the last four games. The rest of the Sharks couldn't say the same in this blowout loss. The 31-year-old center is already at 10 goals this season, matching his total from last year in 32 fewer appearances. He's up to 32 points, 55 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 45 appearances in 2025-26 while filling a second-line role.

Yaroslav Askarov - Struggles in loss Askarov stopped 26 of 32 shots in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights, who also had one empty-netter.

Impact Askarov and the Sharks were down only 2-1 after one period, but the Golden Knights scored three times in the second to take over the game. While he hasn't been very good lately, Askarov has rarely been this bad between the pipes all year aside from the first few weeks. He's down to a 16-11-1 record with a 3.54 GAA and an .890 save percentage through 29 appearances. The Sharks are off until Thursday, when they start a back-to-back against the Capitals before continuing the road trip Friday in Detroit. Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic are likely to split those starts and the two after that (Jan. 19 versus the Panthers and Jan. 20 versus the Lightning) to deal with the four-game road trip.
