Rangers reach deal with Detwiler

The Texas Rangers agreed to a one-year deal with left-hander Ross Detwiler Friday while exchanging salary numbers with Mitch Moreland.

Detwiler, who the Rangers acquired in December from Washington, will earn $3.45 million in his final arbitration season.

Moreland is asking for $3.35 million and the Rangers salary offer is $2.75 million.

The Rangers exchanged salary figures with Moreland last year as well but settled at $2.75 million before an arbitration hearing was necessary. The club hasn’t gone to an arbitration hearing with a player since 2000.

Detwiler, Moreland and Neftali Feliz were the only arbitration-eligible players on the club’s roster. The Rangers reached a deal with Feliz Thursday.
