‘Inside the Heat: Alonzo Mourning’ to debut Nov. 16 on Sun Sports

MIAMI — With the Miami HEAT set to celebrate Alonzo Mourning‘s induction into the NBA Hall of Fame at halftime of Tuesday’s game, Sun Sports, the regional television home of the HEAT, will debut a new episode of "Inside the HEAT" recapping Alonzo’s legendary career.

"Inside the HEAT: Alonzo Mourning" will debut statewide at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday upon conclusion of the HEAT vs. Milwaukee Bucks game. From growing up in Virginia to his time in college at Georgetown, viewers will revisit his path through the NBA that concluded with a NBA Championship in Miami. Upon arriving in Miami in 1995, Alonzo changed the face of the franchise and the way HEAT basketball was played. Fans will hear firsthand how he handled adversity off the court when diagnosed with kidney disease, and how he ultimately overcame the disease to help lead Miami to their first ever NBA Championship. A champion on the court and the first HEAT player to have his jersey retired, Alonzo has remained an integral part of the fabric of our community off the court. The episode will end with a trip to Springfield, Massachusetts, where on Aug. 8, 2014, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. HEAT fans are encouraged to tune in during tonight’s HEAT LIVE halftime show as Sun Sports will exclusively televise the ceremony honoring Alonzo’s Hall of Fame induction.
