FOX Sports Southwest Texas Rangers coverage begins Saturday
FOX Sports Southwest begins its Texas Rangers coverage this weekend with two Cactus League Spring Training games in Las Vegas against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, both at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Three other Spring Training games also will be carried by FOX Sports Southwest this spring leading into the network’s 127-game Rangers television schedule in 2013.
FOX Sports Southwest will televise the Texas-Cincinnati exhibition game from Goodyear, Ariz. on Saturday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. CT, and distribute Big League Weekend games from the Alamodome in San Antonio to markets outside Dallas-Fort Worth.
The two Big League Weekend exhibition games against the San Diego Padres on Friday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. CT and Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. CT will be televised on TXA21 in Dallas-Fort Worth and distributed in the team’s outer markets by FOX Sports Southwest.
Regular season coverage on FOX Sports Southwest begins on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. CT from Houston when the Rangers face the Astros, who make their debut in the American League West in 2013. FOX Sports Southwest will televise two of the three games in the historic season-opening series after the nationally televised season opener on Sunday, March 31.
Play-by-play announcer Steve Busby and analyst Tom Grieve return to call the action on all Rangers local telecasts this season.
FOX Sports Southwest’s Rangers coverage in 2013 will again include Rangers Live pregame and postgame shows for every regular-season telecast, the popular Lunch with the Rangers series at noon CT featuring one-hour condensed replays from the previous day, and the weekly Rangers Insider magazine show.
Rangers’ telecasts on FOX Sports Southwest will be available to over 9 million cable and
satellite TV homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
