According to a report in the New York Post, the Big East has started discussions about bringing in TCU to “help bolster its position … and to help strengthen its football league.”

If the report is true, the offer could be very appealing to TCU because of the automatic BCS bid that comes with membership to the Big East, something that is lacking in the Mountain West Conference.

The source who talked to the New York Post said that no official talks have taken place between Big East athletic directors or school presidents about extending membership to the fifth ranked Horned Frogs.

While the thought of a Big East-TCU partnership might seem far-fetched, many believe expansion is not over and that the WAC, Mountain West
