Plantation vs. St. Thomas Aquinas to air live on FOX Sports Florida via Prep Zone

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — On Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m., FOX Sports Florida will be featuring the Class 7A, District 15 showdown between Plantation and host St. Thomas Aquinas live statewide on the network, presented by Checkers and UHealth. Drew Goldfarb will call the game, alongside color commentator Troy Stradford, and Amy Campbell will be reporting from the sidelines.

The host Raiders (7-1, 3-0), ranked No. 1 in 7A, have outscored their district opponents 170-0 so far this season. Aquinas, which already has nine Division I commits and could likely field at least that many uncommitted prospects who will eventually play at college football’s highest level, have a wealth of offensive talent, led by 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back Jordan Scarlett (Miami) and 6-foot-6, 200-pound wide receiver Devante Peete (Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State). Defensively, the Raiders, who are allowing an average of just 6.3 points per game, have an all-star secondary with a trio of top performers in 6-foot-2, 185-pound Damon Arnette (South Carolina), 6-foot, 190-pound Rashard Causey (Florida Atlantic) and 6-foot, 190-pound Tyson Cisrow (Penn State, South Florida, West Virginia), as well as a formidable front line, featuring 6-foot-3, 230-pound end Wyatt Ray (Boston College).

Meanwhile, the visiting Colonels (6-2, 3-0) return 10 starters from 2013, which saw Plantation finish as the 7A-15 champion after shocking Aquinas 16-6 and qualifying for the state playoffs for the second consecutive season. Plantation utilizes a run-heavy attack behind senior running back Marquice Flowers, but can also pass when needed behind junior quarterback Archie Banton. Defensively, the Colonels have allowed six of fewer points in three of their wins this season.

"This is such a great rivalry and thanks to FOX Sports Florida, Checkers, and UHealth, the entire state of Florida will get to see it," said Stephen Grecsek of OUR TEAM.
