Titans to place NT Sammie Hill on PUP list

The Tennessee Titans have decided to place nose tackle Sammie Hill on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as the team prepares to open training camp.

Hill, a seven-year veteran, injured his knee over the offseason.

"Physically his knee is doing really well, but football-shape wise, I'm a little concerned about that," Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said, via the Tennessean. "I think we'll use that time that he's out – I don't think it will be that long -- to work on the side and get ready."

The 28-year-old Hill can be activated at any point during camp. The Titans begin practicing on Friday.

Last season, Hill registered 33 tackles and three sacks for Tennessee.
