SYDNEY (AP) Cooper Cronk had a hand in all seven of his side's tries, leading the Sydney Roosters to a 38-8 win over Newcastle in Australia's National Rugby League on Sunday.

Tim Lafai and Matt Dufty scored three tries each as St. George Illawarra overwhelmed the Gold Coast Titans 54-8 earlier in the day.

Cronulla beat Parramatta 14-4, handing the Eels their third straight loss to start the season. Brisbane rookie Jamayne Isaako kicked four penalty goals and the winning field goal in overtime as the Broncos beat the Wests Tigers 9-7.

South Sydney defeated Manly 34-6, Canterbury beat Penrith 20-18 and the New Zealand Warriors, down by seven points with four minutes remaining, edged Canberra 20-19 on a final-minute field goal from Shaun Johnson.

It was the Warriors' third win in a row to start the season.

''Everything was against us, so to come out the other end with two points is very special,'' Warriors coach Stephen Kearney said. ''We didn't let the game get away from us ... I thought there was always an opportunity.''

And in a grand final rematch, Melbourne beat North Queensland 30-14 to kick off the third round. It was the Cowboys' seventh loss in a row to the Storm, including last year's championship decider.
