Reds’ Smith gets hit in first AB while dad is interviewed

The Cincinnati Reds rookie pitchers are making it a habit to get their first major-league hit, in their first major-league at bat.

First it was Michael Lorenzen, and on Tuesday night Josh Smith followed suit.

To make Smith’s even better, the 27-year-old got his first base knock while his dad was being interview by FOX Sport Ohio’s Jim Day.

You’ll always remember your first hit, but having dad interviewed while you get that hit? Priceless.

It all makes for one proud papa.
