JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars began trimming their roster Friday by parting ways with 13 players and placing tight end Mychal Rivera and safety Jeron Johnson on injured reserve.

The Jaguars released three vested veterans: linebacker Akeem Dent, running back Jonathan Grimes and running back DuJuan Harris. They waived tight end Caleb Blueitt, offensive lineman Malcolm Bunche, linebacker P.J. Davis, cornerback Charles James, defensive tackle Tueni Lupeamanu, receiver Larry Pinkard, offensive lineman Demetrius Rhaney, receiver Jamal Robinson and cornerback Dwayne Thomas.

They also waived/injured fullback Marquez Williams, a seventh-round draft pick from Miami.

Rivera and Johnson are not eligible to be designated for return.

Jacksonville's roster currently stands at 75, so the team needs to make 22 more moves before the Saturday deadline.
