The Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Maurice Stovall to a one-year deal and released wide receiver Jared Karstetter.

Stovall played in 15 games for the Lions last year but caught only one pass. The six-year veteran caught a career-high 24 passes for Tampa Bay in 2009.

The Lions also announced Tuesday that they have hired Rob Wooley as director of community affairs and team charities.
