Lights go out in Cowboys-Giants game

Published Nov. 14, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Some of the lights went out in the New Meadowlands stadium early in the third quarter in Sunday's game between the New York Giants and visiting Dallas Cowboys. A few minutes later, all of the lights went out for about 10 seconds.

The public address announcer asked fans to remain in their seats "in the event of an evacuation.”

With 11:28 left in the third quarter, play stopped with just some of the lights coming back on. After a seven-minute delay, the teams came back out their locker rooms. The game resumed a short time later with most of the lights back on.

Four plays later, Eli Manning hit Mario Manningham with a 5-yard touchdown pass, cutting the Cowboys' advantage to 26-13 with 8:56 remaining in the third.
