Jets ink first-round pick Pryor to four-year deal
The New York Jets have signed safety Calvin Pryor, their first-round draft pick, to a four-year contract.
The team announced the deal for Pryor, the No. 18 overall selection out of Louisville, on Monday. Contract terms weren't disclosed, but based on the NFL's rookie slotting system, it's worth about $8.56 million, including a $4.5 million signing bonus, and is fully guaranteed. It includes a fifth-year option for the Jets.
Cornerback Dexter McDougle, a third-rounder, is the only player among the Jets' 12 picks to remain unsigned.
Pryor, nicknamed the ''Louisville Slugger'' for his physical approach in college, is expected to be an immediate contributor in the Jets' secondary and a likely starter. He had seven interceptions, nine forced fumbles and 218 tackles in three seasons at Louisville.
