Published Apr. 26, 2013 12:43 a.m. ET

A person familiar with the deal tells The Associated Press that the Minnesota Vikings and defensive end Lawrence Jackson have agreed to a one-year contract.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday night because the agreement hadn't been announced.

Jackson has 19 1/2 career sacks over five seasons with the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle drafted the former USC standout 28th overall in 2008 and he started 24 games for the Seahawks over his first two seasons in the league. The Seahawks traded Jackson to Detroit in 2010 and he had 13 sacks in 37 games for the Lions. He had a career-high six sacks in 2010.
