Will Rockets chase Love or Aldridge?

Published May. 28, 2015 4:11 p.m. ET

Houston's season lasted much longer than most expected. The Rockets went all the way to the Western Conference finals before losing to a better team: the 67-win Golden State Warriors. But to get further next season, the roster may be in need of a bit of an upgrade.

ESPN's Kevin Pelton suggests the team goes after another superstar in free agency, and Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge would both be a perfect fit:

"If a max player signed on, Houston could put together a package of Ariza, Jones or Motiejunas, Prigioni and a free agent or two signed to a new contract -- better value than their previous teams are likely to get elsewhere if Aldridge or Love decides to leave."

Free agency is a crap shoot, but, as usual, general manager Daryl Morey has put his team in position to at least swing for the fences. If the Rockets can land either Love or Aldridge, they'll be considered one of the favorites to win it all next season.
