All-Star Davis, F Anderson out for Pelicans vs. Pacers

Published Feb. 11, 2015 7:23 p.m. ET

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Pelicans All-Star power forward Anthony Davis and fellow forward Ryan Anderson both have been ruled out of Wednesday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Davis is missing his second straight with a right shoulder sprain, but coach Monty Williams says he would still encourage Davis to play in Sunday's All-Star game in New York if he feels well enough.

Davis was injured when he lost his grip on the rim after an alley-oop dunk and fell hard to the court during Saturday night's loss to Chicago.

Anderson is also missing his second straight game with a sore right elbow.

Davis leads the Pelicans in three categories, averaging 24.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.

Ryan Anderson averages 14.9 points per game.
