Winfield again inactive for Vikings

Published Dec. 5, 2009 1:36 p.m. ET

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield is inactive for the fifth straight game with a right foot injury. Winfield spoke optimistically earlier in the week about playing against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. But the Pro Bowl cornerback was listed as questionable on Friday and did not suit up on Sunday. Running back Adrian Peterson was active after missing practice on Friday because of an illness. He also was limited with an ankle injury, but felt good enough to go on Sunday. Right guard Anthony Herrera is out with a concussion. Artis Hicks started in his place. For the Bears, tight end Desmond Clark is out with a neck injury. They also decided to start Frank Omiyale at left guard over Josh Beekman.
