Rams' quarterback Austin Davis fighting to make final roster cuts

Under the circumstances, Austin Davis filled in admirably under center for the St. Louis Rams during the 2014 season.

Undrafted and entering his third season as a pro, Davis started eight games, throwing for 2,001 yards, 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He finished with a passer rating of 85.1.

Now his future is uncertain. In the offseason, the Rams traded for Nick Foles, acquired Case Keenum and drafted Sean Mannion. Does that leave Davis on the outside looking in?

Not quite, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.

"We’re going to allow ’em all to play, allow them to compete and see what happens,” coach Jeff Fisher said. “Case has won games. Austin’s won games. They both have a good feel for what they’re doing."

In all likelihood, it's a race between Keenum and Davis who makes the final 53-man roster.
