Rams' Fisher hopeful Keenum will be cleared to practice Wednesday

St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher is hopeful that quarterback Case Keenum can return to practice Tuesday.

Keenum is in the league's concussion protocol and therefore was unable to practice Tuesday, but he is feeling better, Fisher said at his media briefing Tuesday.

"We're hopeful tomorrow he'll be ready to do some things outside," Fisher said. "So he's feeling pretty well, actually."

Making his first start of the season, Keenum was injured late in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens when his back of his helmet slammed off the turf. A dazed Keenum had trouble getting to his feet but was allowed to remain in the game, leading to a review by the NFL into the matter.

Fisher said Keenum will start Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals if he is medically cleared. Keenum threw for 126 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-26 passing against the Ravens as the Rams were held to 213 yards of total offense.

If Keenum is unable to go, Nick Foles will be back under center. Foles was benched following a 37-13 setback to Chicago on Nov. 15 after he failed to throw for more than 200 yards for the eighth consecutive game.
