Rob Ryan: Instead of talking, 'we'll just prove it this year'

The defense of the New Orleans Saints has the potential to turn things around in 2015 in a big way. They've added playmakers, leaders and are heading into the upcoming season with a major chip on their shoulder. The best way to describe it? The Saints are "quietly confident" as Joel A. Erickson of The Advocate puts it.

On top of that, the man who loves to talk and boast about his defense, Rob Ryan, is actually taking the quieter route this offseason. Instead of predicting a huge 2015, Ryan's chosen to let the team's play prove it.

“The thing is, we did a lot of talking last year and got our butts kicked,” Ryan told The Advocate. “So I know we’ll be great, but we’ll just prove it this year.”

Most people fully expect the additions of Brandon Browner, Anthony Spencer, Delvin Breaux, Dannell Ellerbe and Hau'oli Kikaha (to name a few) to step up big for this defense. If the defense can live up to expectations, the sky may be the limit for the Saints in 2015.
