The Bus and Cowher are rolling in for Ravens game

The Steelers may not have their starting quarterback for Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens, but an old friend will be rolling into Heinz Field.

Jerome Bettis will receiver his Hall of Fame ring during a halftime ceremony, and former head coach Bill Cowher will be the one presenting it. Bettis is still relishing his induction that he said he hasn't even put his new golden Hall of Fame jacket in his closet yet.

“I would expect it’s going to be crazy and full of emotion,” said Bettis via Steelers.com. “I think it will be amazing. It’s only fitting that this happens in front of the Steelers faithful. They have supported me and been behind me for so long. It’s great to be able to do it in front of Steelers fans who have been behind me my entire career.”

It's probably not a coincidence that Bettis' ceremony comes on a night that the Steelers will host their fiercest rival. Last year's ceremony for the retirement of Mean Joe Greene's jersey was also held during a Ravens visit. The extra emotion in the building certainly didn't hurt when the Steelers rolled to a 43-23 victory last November.

Bettis finished his career as the NFL's sixth-leading rusher with 13,662 yards, 10,571 of which came with Pittsburgh. It's only fitting that the man that helped him take his career to the next level will be there to help him celebrate.

“I am just happy for him,” Cowher said. “You look at what he has done over a period of time, how great he was. He was meant to be in the Hall of Fame for what he has done and how he did it. He deserves to be in there.”
