Giants WR Rueben Randle forced from preseason opener after just a few snaps

New York Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle was forced to sit out during the Giants' joint practices with the Bengals last week, so it was very surprising to see him suit up for the preseason opener on Friday night. Randle's debut didn't last long, and the receiver left the field with a noticeable limp after just three snaps.

Randle has tendinitis in his knee, and although he claims that it is an issue he has been dealing with since high school, it is acting up worse now than in the past.

"I felt fine until that last fade," Randle said to reporters, per Jordan Raanan of True Jersey. "It bothered me right there. I was fine until then.

"I have to see what is causing the problem and fix it. That's all I can do."

Randle did not even want to consider missing the regular season opener, which is less than a month away, as any kind of realistic option.

"We'll figure it out. It's not really a big deal," Randle said. "I know how to play through it if I have to. It's not a big problem."

In Randle's absence, wide receivers James Jones and Corey Washington are getting valuable repetitions with the first team offense and Eli Manning. If Randle were to miss extended time, both Jones and Washington offer the offense a big body to play on the outside and serve as a legitimate red zone threat.
