Dolphins place LBs Chris McCain and Koa Misi on IR, sign two OL

The Miami Dolphins will go into Sunday's game down two linebackers. The team announced on Tuesday that they have placed Koa Misi and Chris McCain on season-ending injured reserve. With roster spots open following the moves, the Dolphins added offensive linemen Jacques McClendon and Shelley Smith, as well as linebacker James-Michael Johnson.

While McCain hasn't been a starter for the Dolphins this season, Misi has. He started 13 games, recording 77 tackles and one pass defensed. It was an up-and-down season for the six-year veteran, but no one on defense had a particularly great season outside of Reshad Jones, Olivier Vernon and Ndamukong Suh.

Mike Pouncey is dealing with a foot injury after being carted off the field on Sunday, which is likely why the Dolphins added two offensive linemen. McClendon can play center and compete with Jamil Douglas to fill in with Pouncey injured.

Johnson has been with the Dolphins before and was brought back for depth following Misi and McCain's injuries.
