Gus Bradley still trusts rookie kicker Jason Myers...sort of

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said Monday he has full confidence sending kicker Jason Myers out for field goal attempts. Extra points are another matter.

While Myers has connected on 22 of 26 field goal attempts this season, extra points have proved much more of a challenge. The rookie missed two extra points in Sunday's 42-39 loss to the Tennessee Titans and has missed a total of six this season.

“I trust him in field goals,” Bradley said, per the team's official website. “I think he’s done a good job there. (His field-goal percentage) is pretty good. I think compared to other people that have been here in their career if he continues that that would be a good number, but it’s the extra points. … That’s the part that we need to get right.”

Myers missed extra points in the second and fourth quarter in the loss to the Titans. The 24-year-old beat out longtime incumbent Josh Scobee in training camp.
