Former Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball was sentenced Friday to back-to-back 30-day jail sentences in two cases of domestic violence, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports

Ball was arrested in February after his girlfriend accused him of throwing her across a hotel room. More charges were filed after a former girlfriend came forward with abuse allegations in March.

Ball pleaded guilty to two charges of disorderly conduct and one charge of battery. He also received 18 months of probation and was ordered to attend domestic abuse counseling.

Ball, in court Friday in Wisconsin, vowed to change and said he's also getting treatment for alcohol abuse.

"My counseling has been helping me out to correct my imperfections," he said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, "and I understand I made a few mistakes in my life and I’m willing to do whatever I need to do to help myself."

Ball rushed for 5,140 yards at Wisconsin and set the school record for touchdowns (83). A second-round draft pick, he rushed for 731 yards in 21 games in Denver. Now 25, he hasn't played in the NFL since 2014.
