Broncos reportedly work out two quarterbacks as Trevor Siemian rehabs foot injury

The Denver Broncos had quarterbacks T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree in for a workout Tuesday as starter Trevor Siemian continues to rehab his foot injury, Pro Football Talk reported.

Yates, who suffered a torn ACL last season while playing for the Texans, has appeared in 18 games during his five-year career, throwing for 1,534 yards with six touchdowns and eight interceptions. Renfree appeared in two games with the Falcons last season.

Siemian said Tuesday that he’s “making some headway” in his attempt to return to the field after missing last week’s game against the Jaguars with a left foot injury.

“I think I’m getting better every day,” Siemian said, via the team’s website. “[I’m] trying to do some different things this week and see how it holds up. I think I’m making some headway and we’ll see how it ends up.”

Rookie Paxton Lynch stepped in for Siemian on Sunday, completing 12 of 24 attempts for 104 yards in the Broncos’ 20-10 win.

Denver looks to keep pace with the Raiders and Chiefs in the AFC West when the Broncos take on the Titans at Tennessee on Sunday.
