Glazer: 49ers, Jim Harbaugh divorce will happen quickly

FOX Sports 1 Insider Jay Glazer reports that the 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh are expected to cut ties within 24-48 hours after the regular season ends.

Michigan has reached out to 49ers about Harbaugh, and Bears could also show interest if Harbaugh decides to stay in league, Glazer reports. Michigan has reportedly offered Harbaugh a six-year deal in the $48 million range.

Harbaugh is likely to be hottest coach on the market, but he has one year left on his deal with the 49ers, so the team would have to trade or fire him. The 49ers (7-8) had made it three straight NFC title games under Harbaugh before bottoming out this season.
