Rice visits Middle Tennessee after Evee's 27-point showing

BOTTOM LINE: Rice faces the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders after Travis Evee scored 27 points in Rice's 85-48 victory against the Saint Thomas (TX) Celts.

Middle Tennessee went 26-11 overall and 13-5 in C-USA games last season. The Blue Raiders gave up 67.2 points per game while committing 18.5 fouls last season.

Rice finished 16-17 overall and 7-11 in C-USA play during the 2021-22 season. The Owls averaged 10.9 points off of turnovers, 8.9 second chance points and 5.5 bench points last season.

The matchup Tuesday is the first meeting this season for the two teams in conference play.
