Carmelo Adkins - Heading to Rice Adkins has committed to play for Rice for the 2026-27 season, per Sam Kayser of League Ready.

Impact Adkins will join the Owls following two seasons with USC Upstate. The 6-foot-4 sophomore averaged 13.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game across 32 contests for the Spartans this past season. He will retain two years of eligibility with Rice moving forward.

Jacob Dar - Returning to Rice Dar will transfer to Rice, per PortalUpdates.

Impact Dar played at Rice during the 2024-25 season, averaging 7.5 points and 3.7 rebounds across nearly 20 minutes per game. Last year, he was a small bench piece at Seton Hall, averaging 3.2 points and 1.9 rebounds across 10 minutes per game. He'll rejoin the Owls and look to revitalize his career at Rice.

Sean Blake - Picks Rice Blake will transfer to Rice, per PortalUpdates.

Impact Blake became a starter in his sophomore season at Vermont, averaging 9.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists on 47/35/69 shooting splits. The guard will now take his talents to Rice with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Jarne Elouna Eyenga - Lands at Rice Elouna Eyenga will transfer to Rice, per Tobias Bass of The Athletic.

Impact Elouna Eyenga played a small role at Charlotte in 2025-26 as a freshman. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 3.5 points and 3.0 rebounds across 18.4 minutes, starting 12 of the 24 games in which he played. He'll look for a bigger role at Rice.

Impact Smith scored at least 21 points three times, all in conference play. The 6-4 senior had a productive season after playing his first three years with SMU. He averaged 12.1 points on 41.1 percent from the field with 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Because Memphis won, Rice fell to 11th in the American Conference and did not qualify for the season-ending tournament.

Impact Akuchie started four of the first five games of the season, but has been a reserve since Nov. 24. The 6-11 senior has been playing a bit more of late. In his last six games, he has played 15.5 minutes and averaged 4.5 points on 70.6 percent from the field and 5.2 rebounds. The Owls close the season against UTSA. Akuchie played nine minutes in the Jan. 14 win over Roadrunners and produced seven points and three rebounds.
