Steelers' DeAngelo Williams dealing with swelling in foot

Published Nov. 10, 2015 3:05 p.m. ET

Fresh off his monster performance against Oakland on Sunday, running back DeAngelo Williams will be one of three Steelers that will sit out practice on Wednesday.

Williams has some inflammation in the middle of his foot, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Williams, starting in relief of the injured Le'Veon Bell, ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders and also added 55 yards on two receptions.

Tomlin also said that linebackers Ryan Shazier and James Harrison will also sit Wednesday due to knee swelling.

"We're going to watch those guys and watch them closely," Tomlin said of his injured trio per PennLive.com. "They could be limited throughout the course of the week and definitely tomorrow."

If Williams is unable to start Sunday against the visiting Cleveland Browns, Jordan Todman would be pressed into action. Todman has just two carries for 14 yards this season. Newcome Isaiah Pead could also dress if he has a good week of practice and the Steelers could always look to bring back Dri Archer, who was released last week in favor of Jacoby Jones.
