Josh Sitton able to see positives in Green Bay Packers 2014 season
Starting guard Josh Sitton did not handle the Green Bay Packers' shocking departure from the playoffs last season all that well. A torn ligament in his left big toe was throbbing, but the collapse in the NFC Championship game versus the Seattle Seahawks burned much worse.
Sitton called the 2014 season "a waste of seven, eight months" at the time, according to ESPN. He has since stepped away from the action and assessed his accomplishments with a level head. The guard was able to fight through the pain in his toe to start all 16 games, earning a trip to the Pro Bowl for his efforts.
"Whenever you hit your goals, it's very gratifying—especially when you battle through something all year," Sitton told ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "Obviously the main goal of winning another championship, we've fallen short the last four years, so that's disappointing. That's always the No. 1 goal. If you win championships, all the other stuff comes along. Disappointed that we haven’t done that."
Sitton was a fourth-round selection out of Central Florida back in 2008. He became Green Bay's full-time starter at right guard in his second NFL season. Since then, Sitton has missed only two games. Over the last two seasons, he has started for the Packers at left guard.
