Jim Irsay promises that Andrew Luck's contract extension will be huge
Now that the Super Bowl is over, it's time to tend to matters of all 32 teams. One of the biggest items of the offseason will be the contract status of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and whether or not he inks a massive extension.
Buried in the Super Bowl hoopla, owner Jim Irsay said last week that Luck is going to get paid -- and soon.
From the Colts team website:
Luck, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft, is one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. Last season was marred by injury, including a kidney laceration that KO'd his season.
It's a pretty sure bet that Luck's annual number will be above $20 million a year. Nine quarterbacks already make as much annually, with Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers making $22 million a year.
