Drew Brees' only missed game in Saints career was against the Panthers

At this point, the status of quarterback Drew Brees and his injured shoulder is unknown. Brees could play this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, or he may miss multiple weeks. Regardless, if Brees does miss Sunday's game, it would be the second game he's missed during his New Orleans Saints career.

The one other game he missed? That came back in 2009 against, you guessed it, the Panthers.

As Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review reports, Brees missed that game, which was the regular-season finale. The Saints rested players ahead of the playoffs, which was the only reason New Orleans didn't play their quarterback.

Voth also reports that Brees has posted a 9-9 career record against the Panthers, dating back to his time with the San Diego Chargers as well. If Brees can't play against Carolina, it will be either Luke McCown or Garrett Grayson who gets the nod.
