Wade leaves Nets game with bruised thigh

Published Apr. 3, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade missed the second quarter of Miami's game against the New Jersey Nets with a bruised right thigh but returned for the start of the second half.

Wade left Sunday's game with 4:10 left in the first quarter with what the team described as a right lateral thigh contusion. It appeared he had a collision with Nets forward Travis Outlaw.

Wade was treated in the locker room in the second quarter. He had a slight limp warming up after intermission, but it wasn't enough to keep him off the court.

Wade is averaging 25.8 points and has topped 30 points 25 times this season. He had nine points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field, including one 3-pointer.

While all attention was on Wade in the opening minute of the second half, referee Michael Smith seemed to hurt his lower right leg when a player fell into him. Like Wade, he returned.
