Sixers sign teen with Down syndrome to ceremonial deal

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 12:35 p.m. ET

The NBA shut down the practice of high schoolers going straight to the NBA years ago, but we have a feeling they'll let the Philadelphia 76ers latest deal stand.

The Sixers signed Bensalem (Pa.) High's Kevin Grow, an 18-year-old senior, after watching him play in just one game.

Grow thrilled the home fans on Senior Day by hitting four 3-pointers in just a few minutes of action, the first time he'd seen action in four years with the team.

We should mention that Grow has Down syndrome and has been the team manager through that time. The story and video of his first game action went viral and the 76ers noticed.
