Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin acknowledged that Steve Sarkisian, with whom he coached at USC, sent him text messages with suggestions for plays for the Crimson Tide to run during the second half of the Cotton Bowl, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

It should be noted that Kiffin’s Alabama offense had a stellar performance, scoring 28 points in the second half and completely shutting out the Michigan State Spartans, 38-0.
