Report: WR Kenny Bell headed to the injured reserve

Published Sep. 4, 2015 4:18 p.m. ET

While wide receiver Kenny Bell may have been drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth-round, he came in with plenty of hype. Unfortunately, though, it seems as if his 2015 season may already be in the books.

According to JoeBucsFan.com, Tampa Bay Times beat writer Rick Stroud spoke on WDAE-AM 620, where he mentioned that the former Nebraska wide receiver is going to be headed to the injured reserve.

As JoeBucsFan.com explains, he may be on the "designated-for-return" IR, which would mean he could come back in Week 9 at the earliest.

Regardless, this is an interesting situation to watch, as it seemed like the hamstring injury that was bothering Bell wouldn't cost him much time. His roster spot was definitely up in the air, though, as he tallied no catches and was unable to suit up for the final two preseason games.
