Report: Anaheim out as interim Los Angeles home for NFL teams

Published Jul. 18, 2015 11:09 p.m. ET

The NFL is hard at work figuring out where it'd stash a Los Angeles-based team while a stadium gets built.

One option in Anaheim is now off the table, though. Due to scheduling conflicts with baseball and other events, Angel Stadium is an unlikely temporary home field for football, according to the Orange County Register.

It's a stark departure from Anaheim's football-heavy past. The Halos played host to the Los Angeles Rams for nearly 15 years before they left for St. Louis in 1995.

A baseball field is still in play for any market-changing NFL team, though. According to reports, the NFL has inquired about Dodger Stadium's temporary availability.

The Rose Bowl bowed out of consideration earlier this month. Other stadiums still in play include the L.A. Coliseum and the 22,000-seat StubHub Center, according to the Register.
