NFL odds: Broncos, Patriots favored in Week 12 divisional matchups
The Broncos (7–3) and the Chiefs (7–3), both in the thick of the battle for the AFC West title this season, will meet for the first time this season in the Week 12 Sunday night matchup. The defending Super Bowl champions sit as 3.5-point home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Denver went 7–1 straight up and 5–3 against the spread in eight meetings with Kansas City. This will be the first career start against the Chiefs for QB Trevor Siemian, who has been mostly solid in his first year running the offense for the Broncos.
Both teams are still chasing the division-leading Raiders (8–2), who host the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers (4–6) as 3.5-point chalk earlier in the day.
The Raiders are just 2–2 SU and 1–3 ATS at the Coliseum this year compared to a perfect 6–0 SU and ATS away from Oakland, including Monday night’s (home) game in Mexico City. The favorite is 4–1 SU and ATS in the past five meetings against the Panthers.
The 8–2 Patriots, currently the No. 2 seed in the AFC behind Oakland right now, look to defeat the 3–7 Jets for the ninth time in 11 meetings on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots are eight-point road chalk and have struggled to an 0-5-1 mark ATS in the past six games against their division rivals despite winning four of them.
In another key AFC matchup, the Chargers (4–6) are surprising one-point road favorites on the road against the Texans (6–4), who just fell to the Raiders 27–20 as 6.5-point underdogs. The Texans will be playing on a short week and have lost four of the past five meetings with the Chargers, who have gone 5–0 ATS in those games.
The NFC games are not nearly as good on Sunday, but two that do stand out both involve NFC West teams visiting NFC South squads. The Arizona Cardinals (4-5-1) and Seattle Seahawks (7-2-1) are each playing on the road versus the Atlanta Falcons (6-4) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5–5), respectively.
The Cardinals have lost seven in a row at Atlanta and are 4.5-point underdogs while the Seahawks have covered four of five at Tampa Bay and are listed as 5.5-point chalk in going for their fourth straight victory.
