Adrian Peterson 'satisfied' with 60 rushing yards vs. Chiefs

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson usually aims high. For example, earlier this season, he said he wanted to eclipse 2,500 yards on the ground and win the NFL's rushing title in 2015.

But against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, Peterson only gained 60 yards on 26 carries. Although his rate of 2.3 yards per carry was his worst average so far this season, the All-Pro running back was still somewhat pleased with his performance.

"You look at the yards and you wouldn’t think that [I’m] satisfied or happy with how thing played out," Peterson said, per Chip Scoggins of the Star-Tribune. "But I am."

For most of the game, it was a struggle for Peterson to get back to the line of scrimmage. However, when he was able to move the pile, the yardage gained was crucial. His contributions helped keep the chains moving, as the Vikings' time of possession exceeded 33 minutes in their 16-10 victory over the Chiefs.

Sometimes Peterson blows up the box score; other times a gritty effort is enough to get the job done.
