Lions win without fourth-quarter comeback for first time all season

For the first time all season, the Lions didn’t need Matthew Stafford to engineer a late comeback in order to win. 

Detroit led wire-to-wire against the Saints and won the game 28–13. It was the first time all season that the Lions won a game without coming from behind in the fourth quarter. 

Their previous seven wins had come after Stafford and the offense erased late deficits, including an 18-point comeback in Week 1 against the Colts. 

Stafford leads the league with seven fourth-quarter comebacks, two more than Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. He also led the league with five comebacks in 2014.
