Texans owner Bob McNair: Playoffs 'just the first goal'

The Houston Texans reached the playoffs for the first time in three seasons, but team owner Bob McNair said this week he's far from satisfied.

The Texans finished 9-7 to win their first AFC South since 2012, but were blown out, 30-0, by the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.

McNair said making the playoffs is only one part of the plan.

“The goal of getting to the playoffs give you an opportunity to play for the championship,” McNair said. “That’s just the first goal. That’s not the ultimate goal.

“Our goal is to win a Super Bowl.”

With that in mind, McNair and the Texans will turn their focus towards finding a franchise quarterback in the offseason. Houston starter Brian Hoyer turned the ball over five times in the playoff loss to the Chiefs, underscoring the team's need for a long-term solution at the position.
