Bob Quinn made his first major decision as the Detroit Lions' general manager on Thursday, announcing that Jim Caldwell will stay on as the team's head coach for the 2016 season.

Several Lions players -- from 22-year-old running back Ameer Abdullah to 31-year-old defensive end Darryl Tapp -- rejoiced after hearing the news.

Caldwell clearly has the support of his players after leading the Lions to 18 wins over the last two seasons. Although this past season was disappointing, many still have faith in him to replicate the success Detroit experienced in 2014.

The Lions still have a playoff-caliber core, but Quinn and Caldwell have some serious work to do this offseason.
