Bruce Arians on Bears not hiring him: 'I'm glad they said no'

Bruce Arians could have been coaching Jay Cutler instead of Carson Palmer, and traded in the heat of The Desert for the wind chill of the Windy City.

But the Bears did not hire Arians, instead choosing Marc Trestman, who was fired following the 2014 season.

Meanwhile, Arians has guided the Cardinals to a 22-11 combined record (including Week 1's win over the Saints) and last season's postseason appearance.

Arians noted he was "surprised" the Bears didn't hire him, but also said: "I'm glad they said no."

The Cardinals and Bears square off in Week 2, and for one team, hiring Arians was clearly the better decision.
