Russell Wilson returns to the diamond to throw the first pitch for the Mariners

Russell Wilson’s weekends are about to get a whole lot busier, but he took a little break from football on Friday night to throw out the first pitch before the Mariners’ 11-8 win over the Angels at Safeco Field.

Wilson, as you might remember, was drafted in the fourth round by the Rockies in 2010 and spent two seasons in Class-A in the minors. It’s worth noting, however, that he was a second baseman – something that was obvious during this delivery:

Still, not a terrible effort by any means. And the same goes for ace-turned-catcher Felix Hernandez.

Regardless, don’t expect Wilson to quit his (Sun)day job, which kicks into full gear when the Seahawks host the Dolphins next Sunday in Week 1.
