Rams Jenkins, Givens inactive for rules violation

Published Nov. 11, 2012 9:01 p.m. ET

St. Louis cornerback Janoris Jenkins and wide receiver Chris Givens are inactive for the Rams' game Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers for a violation of team rules.

The Rams said both players would be on the sideline and in team gear. No other details were announced.

Wideout Danny Amendola is active for St. Louis after missing the last three games with a right shoulder injury, and he moves into Givens' starting spot. Bradley Fletcher will start in place of Jenkins, a rookie chosen with the 39th pick overall in the second round last spring.

Jenkins was dismissed from the University of Florida team following two arrests for possession of marijuana and another charge of resisting arrest, then finished his college career at North Alabama.

For the 49ers, healthy running back Brandon Jacobs highlighted the list of inactives. He has been active only once all season but never played.
