Bills CB Brooks, WR Goodwin out
Buffalo Bills cornerback Ron Brooks and rookie receiver Marquise Goodwin are out indefinitely after they were hurt in a season-opening loss to New England.
Coach Doug Marrone said Monday that Brooks will have surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken bone in his right foot. Marrone added Goodwin was already having surgery to repair a broken bone in his right hand.
The initial prognosis is that both players' injuries are not season-ending, Marrone said.
Both were hurt in a 23-21 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Brooks' injury further depletes Buffalo's defensive secondary, which is already missing starting cornerback Stephon Gilmore (broken left hand) and starting safety Jairus Byrd (feet).
Brooks was listed as third cornerback. Goodwin is a third-round draft pick out of Texas.
