MONTERREY, MEXICO-- Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred told FOX Sports San Diego's Mark Grant and Don Orsillo on Friday that MLB "would like to expand to 32 teams."

When mentioning the expansion, the commissioner said having 32 teams would lead to benefits in both scheduling and playoff format. He also stated that both Mexico and Canada would be possible locations for expansion.

"We really have interest in Montreal and getting back there," Manfred stated.
